Today I passed my Nidan Grading under the watchful eyes of JKS Seniors and Kanayama Sensei.
It’s something I’ve been training and working towards for a long time. I’ve been consistently putting in the hours — every single day — and with every session, every correction, and every bit of sweat, I got closer to this day.
I’ve had great support around me throughout this journey, and I’m genuinely grateful. From advice and encouragement, to simply training alongside me and helping keep my standard sharp — it all made a difference.
Truth is, I kept saying I wasn’t nervous… but the day before and on the morning itself, it hit me. The nerves, the pressure. But I’d done the work, and that gave me confidence.
Thank you to everyone who’s been part of the journey — I couldn’t have done it without you.
And thank you to Kanayama Sensei for the incredible course today.
