Taking Flight Again: Rediscovering My Passion for Drones After 6 Years

As a kid, I was captivated by the thrill of flying and playing with toy drones, experiencing the excitement and joy they brought since 2014 when I was just 12 years old. From small micro drones to medium-sized ones, and eventually to heavier, advanced high-entry photography and feature-packed drones, my passion for flying only grew stronger. After a six-year break, I found myself drawn back to the world of drone flying. Despite dedicating much of my time to studies, karate training, and writing about my journey, the fascination of soaring through the skies once again proved irresistible. With a mix of excitement and nostalgia, I dusted off my drone and took flight - I did this every year and was blown away by how it continued to collect dust each time. The feeling of freedom as I guided the drone through the air was incomparable, reminding me of the artistry and joy that comes with this hobby. It's a reflection to the unexpected twists life can take and the beauty of rediscovering old passions. For some there is therapy. For the rest, there are drones.

My favorite drone brands are DJI, EHang, Potensic and Fimi. I recently educated myself on Potensic and Fimi, giving them a chance within the budget consumer drones and I can honestly say they are just as good as DJI. Sure, some things are not perfect, but Potensic and Fimi are really working their way up and giving other brands on the top market share a run for their money. I look forward to seeing how both Potensic and Fimi as well as other drone brands introduce new technologies, as the market share for drones is very competitive right now. It's not just about who can develop the best product as soon as possible, it's about who can develop an exceptional product the right way.
